Do You Have to Be in Shape to Start BJJ? | Chris Matakas Do I have to be fit to start BJJ? Should I get in shape before starting Brazilian Jiu Jitsu? Can I start Jiu Jitsu if I am out of shape? Am I too out of shape to start training BJJ? I answer these questions almost every week when a prospective student approaches me about their interest in starting Jiu Jitsu. This is a great question, and within this video I answer it and give my perspective on what students can expect from Jiu Jitsu within their fitness journey.
