QUIPU is a digital technology platform that strengthens community economic ties and local wealth and inspires radical planning for social-economic transformation. The name QUIPU builds on the Inca knotted strings record-keeping devices of census data, transactions, and narratives.
QUIPU supports marginalized communities in building thriving and collaborative place-based economies. We do that by creating local digital marketplaces that ease and increase transactions of good and services. Our marketplaces: map and connect local producers and consumers, create a trading system that through digital vouchers makes bartering more efficient; and generate a credit score based on the users´ transaction history to access financial services.
