(06/19/2019 12:44 PDT) Lynnwood Police Department responded to a report of a purse snatching/robbery occurred at the Costco on 18100 blk 33rd Ave W after a female reported that her purse was taken after looking away from the shopping cart for a second. The subjects hopped in with their getaway driver in a orange Dodge Charger and took off from the scene. Based on past listening from the scanner, this is not the first time that something like this have happened at Costco stores as there have been recent calls from subjects with similar MO (mode of operation) stealing cell phones and purses from unsuspected (and sometimes suspected) victims. All of these have occurred at Costco stores across South Snohomish County. LPD put out a broadcast to surrounding agencies for the vehicle and there were 911 calls of a orange Charger that was driving recklessly away from the city. Then, a Snohomish County Sheriff's Office transit deputy spotted the vehicle and gave chase of the subjects. The subjects were traveling on Filbert Road at triple digit speeds. The pursuit ended when the suspect vehicle collided with another vehicle at the intersection of SR 527 and Maltby Rd. The suspect vehicle was confirmed stolen and three suspects were taken into custody without incident. The driver of the second vehicle that was struck had minor injuries, but was not transported by aid.
