Some of SPFPA's employees and former SPFPA employees have been found guilty of Embezzlement and other related crimes. This Includes former SPFPA Region 3 Director Michael Hough who plead guilty to theft of proprietary information. It turns out Hough who was the former Vice President of the United Government Security Officers of America (UGSOA) International Union stole UGSOA's mailing list prior to his employment with SPFPA. FBI and Department of Labor agents found this stolen information on SPFPA's computers when they raided SPFPA HQ.
Former SPFPA Washington DC Director Caleb Gray-Burris was was convicted on six counts of mail fraud, seven counts of theft from a labor organization, one count each of obstruction of justice and criminal contempt, and three counts of union recordkeeping offenses.
Former SPFPA Washington DC Director Assane Faye. Union President From Ocean County, New Jersey, Convicted Of Embezzling Over $350,000 In Union Funds. Faye, was convicted of all counts of an indictment charging him with two counts of embezzling union funds and seven counts of mail fraud arising from unemployment insurance fraud.
On February 15, Devon Madray, former president of Security, Police and Fire Professionals of America (SPFPA) Local 119, and SPFPA Assistant Auto Director was sentenced in U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan to five years of probation, and ordered to pay $20,097 in restitution and a $100 special assessment, for embezzling funds from the Roseville, Mich. union. He had pleaded guilty last October after being indicted in July. The actions follow an investigation by the U.S. Labor Department’s Office of Labor-Management Standards.
SPFPA Local 506 members are calling for a Criminal investigation and had filed formal charges against Rick O'Quinn, SPFPA Region 2 Vice President and Senior Adviser to SPFPA David L. Hickey. See charges below. The SPFPA is refusing to file formal charges against O'Quinn.
It turns out SPFPA Region 2 Vice President Rick O'Quinn's wife Mabel O'Quinn is the President of Petronus Systems, Inc a security company. Since SPFPA Rick O'Quinn represents security professionals in the same industry the SPFPA, is required under the LMRDA to report this on SPFPA;s LM-2 forms which they have not based on our investigation of their public filings.
