Are You Ready To Start a Team?

Are You Ready To Start a Team? ➡REALTORS: Thinking about starting a team? Do you hire an admin (client coordinator) or buyer's agent first?

✅TIP: Don't start by outlining the tasks that you want this person to do in your place. Start first with the tasks/projects/goals you want to do with the time they are going to save you.

This video shares a story about a meeting I had recently with one of our agents here at Highgarden. She has been in the business for a couple years now, closed 45 deals in the last 12 months and is on track to do about $12M in 2019.

IMHO anyone looking at building a team probably should be doing at least 30 transactions per year – with proper time management and office support an agent should be able to do 30-40 transactions per year on their own.

Once you get to that level, and you want to continue to grow your business, you need to start thinking about adding an admin or transaction coordinator. NOT a buyer’s agent (I'll save that topic for another time).

This agent is 100% on board with the philosophy of adding an admin or transaction coordinator, FIRST.

Our initial discussion mainly focused on the tasks that this new team member would be responsible for. What are the every day type tasks that could be taken off of her plate and given to an admin?

After a nights sleep, and some time to reflect on our meeting I realized we talked too much about what her new admins responsibilities might be and not enough about what she would be doing with her new found 5-8 hours per day.

I met with her again yesterday, and we spent an hour or so talking about two things that I think are more important to iron out before making the list of what she wants her new admin to take over.

1. What’s the (your) goal?

2. What are you going to do with the 5-8hrs a day that your new admin
has freed up for you?

Once those two questions get well thought out and thoroughly defined... then, and only then, should we start talking about what this new person’s role and responsibilities might be.

Have a great day! Chris
