Arson Suspect Identified in Kyoto Anime Fire The day after a fire killed dozens at a Japanese animation studio, anime fans are mourning and trying to make sense of the tragedy. At Comic-Con in San Diego, comic book artist Jeffrey Cruz struggled to understand why a man would set fire to Kyoto Animation Studio, asking "What was the cause behind that hatred toward the studio specifically? I have no idea." Japanese police have released the name of the suspect in the blaze: 41-year-old Shinji Aoba.
