The move by the Uganda peoples defense forces UPDF to deploy an extra 1500 reserve forces to Somalia has drawn mixed reactions, with political pundits warning that the continued UPDF stay in the war ravaged country could turn the UPDF into war mercenaries. This as the UPDF announced that more troops will be sent to Somalia under the AMISOM mission to support the existing 6000 Ugandan troops. Political pundits warn that the war in Somalia has taken a toll on Uganda politically, socially and economically adding that if not checked, it could have a far reaching impact on the country.
