Factions Research: Maps & Matchmaking | The Last of Us Online Multiplayer

Greetings, Strategists! Have you ever wondered HOW the players in a Factions lobby are sorted, and WHY the begin on a certain side of the map? Well, I haven't uncovered the technical formula that is applied, but I have researched why certain teams START on specific sides of the map, and what it entails. Basically, I took some time to research each map and answer this simple question:

"How are starting map locations determined for teams? Is it random, or is there a formula involved?"
