Summer Adventures keiki learn Hip Hop from experts

Summer Adventures keiki learn Hip Hop from experts One-hundred-seventy-five keiki from kindergarten to grade 6 at the Hawaii Baptist Academy's Summer Adventures program got a chance to watch and learn Hip Hop dancing on Tuesday, June 18.

Dance experts from Breaks R4 Kidz came to the Nuuanu campus and put on a little show in the auditorium before taking the keiki outdoors to teach them their cool moves.

They started the show with their youngest performers and then let the big boys take over to wow their audience.

Breaks R 4 Kidz is an innovative dance group run by B-Boy Tom Solo. Solo said he aims to educate youth about Hawaii's Hip-Hop culture by focusing on the main principals of Hip-Hop: Peace, love, unity and having safe fun through respectful competitions.
The instructors taught the keiki a variety of moves on and off the ground and even gave them a chance to turn and face each other in Hip Hop battle.

Breaks R 4 Kidz gave away some prizes at the end of the session for dance moves and "bravery" in performance.
