With such large stakes in these companies, their net worth grew with the company.

Elon Musk has large stakes in all of his companies. He owns just under 20% of Tesla and around 50% of SpaceX. These are companies looking to disrupt multiple, very important and large industries:
- Automotive
- Energy Storage
- Energy Production
- Battery Technology
- Rocket Technology
- Internet Connectivity

and so much more. Companies like AT&T and Verizon, and Toyota are worth over $200B each. If Tesla and SpaceX can dominate some of the above industries, perhaps it, too can become a multi-hundred billion dollar corporation.

This would also mean Elon Musk's large percent ownership in these companies would turn him into the richest person in the world.
