Recorded example of our 8 WW "Clip Method" rotation in i470 gear @ 2.47s GCD. • Summon Bahamut
• ~0.5s delayed Ruin IV + Enkindle Bahamut + Fester
• Ruin III (hardcast)
• Ruin III (hardcast)
• Ruin III (hardcast)
• Ruin III (hardcast)
• Ruin IV + Swiftcast + Enkindle Bahamut
• Ruin III (instant) + Energy Drain + Fester
• Ruin IV
The Clip Method Bahamut is done by taking a brief pause between 0.3-0.6s depending on your latency (ideally around 0.5s) after Summon Bahamut before your first Ruin IV GCD.
By doing so enough time is taken to go past Bahamut’s initial window of doing nothing in order to react to the Ruin IV thus executing a WW.
You will need to test the timing to determine what’s good for you.
To test the timing:
• go to a striking dummy
• cast Ruin II + any oGCD + Summon Bahamut
• wait for your GCD to cool down, take a breath, then cast Ruin II
If the Demi-Summon reacts with their action, you have it.
One downside to this method is that at expected GCD speeds, if you take too long with the initial clip you can lose too much time to fit the last WW before Bahamut despawns at the end of his 20s window resulting in 7 attacks. If you cast the initial gcd too early & clip the double weaves due to high ping you can lose a WW at the beginning and end for a total of 6!
As a result this is not a method recommended for players with high ping, however, if you can execute it with consistency then this is the more optimal rotation for raid buff timings due to the earlier Akh Morn & Fester catching the tail end of all the synergy.
As always, practice Demi-Summon rotations and find out what works best for you.
