Polynomials – Division, Remainder and Factor Theorem, Roots and Coefficients, Roots of Multiplicity

Polynomials – Division, Remainder and Factor Theorem, Roots and Coefficients, Roots of Multiplicity In this video, I will demonstrate how to answer some typical and advanced polynomial exam questions using examples from real exams under Extension 1 Maths (3U) course. Examples include:
• Polynomial division, factorising polynomials and solving polynomial equations
• Application of the remainder and factor theorem
• Relationship between the roots and coefficients of a polynomial
• Application of calculus to find roots of multiplicity

As this is the first year implementation of the new Maths syllabus in NSW for 2020 HSC students, I have created this “Study with Me” series to help students prepare for the upcoming Year 11 Preliminary yearly exams. I will cover selected topics students tend to struggle with across the Advanced Mathematics (2U) course and the Extension 1 Mathematics course (3U).

This is relevant for both Year 11 and Year 12 students preparing for HSC Mathematics and HSC Maths Extension 1 for 2020 and onwards.
