Washington State football came away with a 54-53 victory against Oregon State on Saturday night in Pullman to clinch a bowl game spot. Anthony Gordon set two conference records versus the Beavers: the Pac-12 single-season record for TD passes (45) and single-season record for passing yards (4,937). Gordon threw for 606 yards, six touchdowns and three interceptions; the third 600-yard passing game in Pac-12 history. Oregon State quarterback Jake Luton threw for a career-high 408 yards and five touchdowns. The Beavers have not won in Pullman since 2013 and need to win next week against Oregon to become bowl eligible for the first time since 2013. Oregon State falls to 5-6 overall and 4-4 in conference standings, while the Cougars move to 6-5 overall and 3-5 in league play.
