Gun Recovered From Vehicle After Crash That Trapped One, Ejected Another In Tustin 11.12.2019 | 10:50 PM | TUSTIN - A handgun was recovered after a dramatic crash involving a Nissan GT-R sports car that left one person trapped and ejected another, Tuesday night.

Authorities responded to reports of a traffic collision with a person trapped in the 2800 block of Edinger Avenue around 10:50 PM.

Units arriving on scene located a white Nissan GT-R on its roof with one person ejected and another trapped inside.

Firefighter paramedics treated the ejected patient, a male asian, on scene before transporting him to an area trauma center in unknown condition.

Using the jaws of life and other power tools the second victim, also a male asian, was freed within 25 minutes and transported to an area trauma center.

While searching contents that apparently flew from the vehicle during the high-speed crash officers discovered a black semi-automatic handgun inside a backpack.

The firearm was not secured and it was unclear if any of the occupants inside the vehicle had a permit to carry the weapon.

Initial reports indicate that the Nissan was traveling eastbound on Edinger Avenue at high-speeds when he failed to calculate a curve and jumped the center divider before striking a tree and causing the vehicle to overturn.

The force of the crash left a tree demolished and a wheel impression on the second-story of a nearby building.

All westbound lanes of Edinger Avenue were closed at Jamboree Plaza while authorities investigated.
