The ASX 200 posted solid gains on Wednesday to put the Index with sight of the record highs set at the end of July this year. Westpac (WBC) led the banks higher on news that the CEO would step down next week and Chairman to retire by mid-2020 following the bank’s breaches of Anti-Money Laundering & Counter-Terrorism Financing (AML/CTF) laws. Bank of Queensland (BOQ) fell after resuming from a trading halt as it raised $250 million at a discount price from institutional clients.
