Over 20 injured in fresh violence at Arunachal's Namsai; CM Pema Khandu rushes in HM Bamang Felix Arunachal Pradesh Home Minister Bamang Felix today visited Namsai and assessed the ground situation in the aftermath of Saturday's violence during which more than two dozen people sustained injuries.
Felix who was rushed to Namsai by the state Chief minister Pema Khandu was accompanied by a couple of MLAs and state DGP RP Upadhaya.
Felix held discussions with the Namsai district administration and advised them to strictly maintain law and order as well as to initiate confidence building measures among the people of various communities.
Tension prevails in Namsai after fresh outbreak of violence in the area. Violence erupted during a bandh called by the All Tai Khampti Singhpo Students Union and All Namsai Area Students Union.
As per sources over 20 people were injured in the incident. The police had to resort to shelling of tear gas and firing in the air to bring the situation under control.
