Scammers posing as firefighters order residents to evacuate then return to loot properties Order BLACKWOLF PREMIUM PACKS: Scammers posing as firefighters order residents to evacuate then return to loot properties. Scammers are allegedly posing as firefighters and telling residents affected by bushfires that they need to evacuate before returning to loot their properties.

Residents in the small New South Wales town of Dondingalong say they have seen a group of young males dressed in firefighter gear driving around in a red Commodore.

'They're coming out knocking stuff off. There are pensioners out there, it's just a joke,' local Jake Moore told 9 News.

.

Mr Moore was at his house when he was phoned by a neighbour saying they had to evacuate.

However, when he went to the local fire station to see how close the fires were in order to move his cattle, he was informed they had not been sent out to any fires.

'I've got no idea what would lead a person to do something so low as this. It's absolutely disgusting,' he said.

In a seperate incident, on Thursday morning detectives executed a search warrant at a property north of Lismore where they discovered equipment branded with the NSW Rural Fire Service insignia.

The search led to the arrest of two men who were allegedly posing as firefighters.

A 36-year-old man was charged with dishonestly obtaining benefit by deception, having goods in custody suspected of being stolen and vehicle registration offences.

He was refused bail and is to appear in Lismore Local Court on Thursday afternoon.

In yet another incident, a man was arrested in the town of Loftus, south of Sydney, after he was seen riding a motorbike through Royal National Park dressed as a firefighter.

The 19-year-old was charged with impersonating an emergency services worker and having goods in custody suspected of being stolen.

He will appear in Sutherland Local Court on December 4 after being granted strict conditional bail.
