We hear (or say) all the time that “they’re not coming to my house” when the S hits the fan, but is it really that simple? We Make this blanket statement that absolutely no one will be let in, but it won’t be as simple as saying “nope! Move along buddy”. We’ve all heard about the woman coming to the door with a child asking for food, but that situation is far less likely than your neighbors of friends from work stopping by. Another thing to consider is that every situation will be different. An EMP could be long lasting and devastating, while an economic collapse could be more of a slow decline.
Operational security & Preventative measures are also important when considering who might show up at your front door starving and desperate. It’s the fine line we walk with who we tell about our prepping, and how much we tell them.
In a disaster scenario having a support group is critical. Most people don’t (or can’t) have a prepping group right now and may need to form one on the fly in some sort of SHTF situation.
You need people in a situation like this, but the difficulty is finding the right people.
