Photography Basic Rules

Never move an object before photographing it
When in doubt take a photograph


Types of Photographs
-Establishing photographs: depict an overall view of the scene. This can include broad shot of the buildings, approach and escape routes, witnesses, etc.


-Medium-range photographs: shows the relationship between objects with a concentration on the immediate scene.
This shows the relationship of evidence in a given space.


-Close-up photographs: depict single item of evidence.


-Macrophotography: is extreme close-up of very small subjects in which the size of the subject in the photograph is greater than life size.
