MALVAN ‘TEHSILDAR’ TO DECIDE QUANTUM OF FINE ON TRAWLER OWNER FRANCIS SILVEIRA

The license issuing authority of Fisheries Department, Sindhudurg has submitted a report on LED light fishing trawler which was caught at Malvan coastal area. License issuing officer Shivraj Chavan has submitted his report to Malvan Tehsildar Ajay Patane and has proposed fines that should be imposed on the trawler owner Francisco Silveria from North Goa. As per rules, fines can be imposed five times against the amount which was received by auction of fish which have been found during the raid. However, now it is up to the Malvan Taishildar whether to impose a fine or not. Decision likely to be on Monday. Meanwhile, Goa Forward and Goenchya Ramponkarncho Ekvat have lashed out Sant Andre BJP MLA Fransico Silveria for his involvement into illegal LED light fishing activities
