SEEAM – Results in 2019, Bijeljina, BiH, 05. 12. '19 - At the end of the third year we are summarizing the results that we have achieved at each of the three levels of the project. The results at the silver level in the past three years are amazing. 94 companies took part in the project, with more than 210 individual participants, covering an area with population of 5.2 million. In the course of the 3 years they attended 82 days of training with 650 hours of lectures, Oliver Nachevski, IAM STA GIZ Project Manager stated.
- Thus, we have been trained how to enter data, correct errors, work with reports and zoning. Currently we are entering some additional data which have not been entered in the GIS before and are required by the EDAMS Programme, and in the future period we can use such data to develop a mathematical model of the water supply network, said Gordana Nikolic, PUC " Vodovod i kanalizacija" Bijeljina, BiH
- In the forthcoming period we are planning to continue our participation in the project on the next, golden level. At this closing workshop we have had an opportunity to learn about the experiences of other public utility companies, which have already passed the silver level and are currently at the golden or platinum level, said Stojce Stojkovski, PUC "Bregalnica - Delcevo, N. Macedonia
- The golden phase of the project has been implemented in the past two years, 2018 and 2019, with 32 companies and 65 participants attending the trainings. These companies are providing services to more than 1.3 million inhabitants. So far more than 6000 job cards detected by these companies have been completed, Oliver Nachevski, IAM STA GIZ Project Manager stated.
- Working using job cards enables us to control the expenses, to send our teams out in the field, remove the defects and identify the segments of the network where we are facing the most severe problems, so as to enable the planning of a future reconstruction and replacement and minimize the costs, said Zeljko Radulovic, PUC "Arandjelovac" Arandjelovac, Serbia
- We have great expectations, since it is a project that would implement new technologies, which would significantly improve the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of the operation of our public utility companies, in particular in terms of water services. By sharing experiences and introducing new technologies, we hope that we would complete an useful task in the interest of the citizens within our municipality, Igor Hristov, PUC "Solidarnost" - Vinica, N. Macedonia stated.
- The platinum phase has started in 2019 and so far 15 companies with more than 35 participants have successfully passed it. These companies are providing services to 650 000 inhabitants. Within this period, we have entered 420 balancing zones with more than 750 consumers, and more than 200 flow meters have been registered in the network, Oliver Nachevski, IAM STA GIZ Project Manager stated.
- Owing to all our efforts in the past years, we are in a position to address the main aspects of asset management, in particular the financial asset management, assessment of the situation and planning of rehabilitation. These topics will be addressed and researched in the next 2 years and we believe that the Programme would justify the efforts of the companies and would transform such efforts into sustainable benefits - Petros Kolovopoulos, Hydro Comp Enterprises, Cyprus, stated.
