In this video we will explain the benefits of getting sunlight to the human body and the right way and time to get exposed to sunlight.
Nowadays, what prevents us from getting adequate sunlight is due to our all time indoor lifestyles. We spend most of our time in closed offices and house where rarely we get chance to get enough sunlight. Besides, we are glued to smart phones and televisions, which prevent us from going outside and spend time in the sun.
In short human beings have become like caged animals.
First, let us understand the key benefits of sun charging or sunbathing:
Sunlight is that source of energy that is till today “Not polluted”. Sunbathing can be done by children, young, adults and old. When your skin is exposed to sunlight, it makes vitamin D. The sun's ultraviolet B (UVB) rays hit cholesterol in the skin cells, which gives the energy for vitamin D synthesis to occur. Vitamin D is also called as “the sunshine vitamin.”
The foods that have vitamin D are cod liver oil, swordfish, salmon, canned tuna, beef liver, egg yolks and sardines. But you would need to eat them nearly every day to get enough vitamin D.When sunlight is absorbed by the body through the skin, it is a natural disinfectant and detoxifies your body. This helps to clean the body internally.
When Sunlight touches face skin, the warmth helps to open the closed pores and thus helping the accumulated dirt to exit.Sunlight helps to absorb nutrients like calcium, phosphorous, magnesium etc. If the body is not able to absorb calcium the bones become weaker and thinner.
By sunbathing calcium is properly absorbed by the body and the bones become strong.
Sunlight helps to heel knee pain, back pain and digestive disorders.
Allow sunlight to come to your room and living area by opening the windows. It will make your house filled with positive energy. This will result in positive mental health which in turn improves your mood. Exposure to sunlight is thought to increase the brain's release of a hormone called serotonin. Serotonin is associated with boosting mood and helping a person feel calm and focused.
Sunlight also affects secretion of insulin and could play a major role in controlling diabetes. It will also help to reduce high blood pressure.
Sunlight can improve and control skin conditions like psoriasis. Vitamin D can help reduce inflammation throughout your body. The nutrient, as well as the UV rays from light exposure, can help clear or prevent psoriasis plaques.
How to do Sunbathing?
Go outside, sit or lie either in terrace, veranda, garden area, beach or any open area where you can get direct sunlight. The best time will be morning before 9am or evening after 4pm. It will depend on your geographical location and intensity of sunlight also. Darker skinned people have more melanin. It reduces the amount of UVB light absorbed. Therefore darker-skinned people need more time in sunlight to make the same amount of vitamin D as lighter skinned people.
You can sunbathe for approximate 15-30 minutes and at least 3 times in a week. Show both front and back side of the body.It is best to do sunbathing with no or little clothes. But if you don’t find a private space, preferably wear white cotton clothes only. While sunbathing you can read books, listen to music or meditate. Avoid using sunscreen while taking sunlight. Due to the warmth of the sunlight the pores will open up and the cream goes deep into the skin. There could be harmful chemicals inside the cream that can also go along with it.
Sunlight has healing energies, so while sunbathing respect the sun always.
