Elvis Presley - What a Wonderful Life - with RCA audio and Follow That Dream movie intro

Elvis Presley - What a Wonderful Life - with RCA audio and Follow That Dream movie intro The opening to Elvis' 1962 movie "Follow That Dream" includes the very catchy and upbeat song "What a Wonderful Life" and is without doubt one of my favourites of all intros to Elvis' movies. The song, written by Sid Wayne and Jerry Livingston was recorded by Elvis on 2 July 1961 at RCA's Studio B in Nashville, Tennessee at a single day recording session for the purpose of soundtrack recordings for the upcoming movie. All five songs included in the movie were successfully recorded at the session as well as "A Whistling Tune" which was ultimately disregarded for inclusion in the film but was resurrected and re-recorded for inclusion in his next movie, Kid Galahad.

Elvis recorded "What a Wonderful Life" in seven takes and the final take was used both for the RCA master and for inclusion in the movie. Unfortunately all the stereo masters from this session apart from "Angel" have been lost and there whereabouts are unknown.
