This is a family video, recording of our visit to Nanakana Sahib to celebrate Guru Nanak Dev Ji's 550th Birthday. This is the first series of videos I've uploaded to YouTube.
This recording was the first time i used this borrowed camera to take the video footage, and this was also the first time I've used video editing software on a borrowed laptop, to make these series of videos covering the Nanakana Yatra days. so it took me a few weeks just to get my head round the technology/software, and i'm still learning. So please don't judge too harshly.
I was compelled to learn/do this, and upload our Nanakana Sahib Yatra videos, as Nanakana Sahib is not accessible to the tens of millions of Sikhs around the world and this was such an important date/ event in the Sikh calendar. I feel lucky/privileged to have made this journey and wanted to share this experience with those who were unable attend or make this pilgrimage. I see this as Seva (service) that offers Darshan of some of the most important/sacred shrines in the Sikh Faith and share our experience of a truly wonderful Yatra.
I have put some kirtan/Gurbani/shabads/dharmik, tracks on the video footage at various point in an attempt to enhance your viewing experience.
I have also put on screen text information, it is another attempt to enhance your viewing experience- this text information was gleaned through research/listening to what was said at the various sites we visited.

During the Yatra a lot of the Sangat was saying to me whilst i was filming that they would like a copy/access of the recordings i was shooting and they would pay for this service-
I consider this service to be seva- and wouldn't dream of charging anyone- but if members of the Yatra group or members of the general public feel compelled to make a donation after watching the video(s) , please make your donations to the organiser of this trip: Mr Sudaghar Singh Nagara from the area of Cawston in Rugby, United Kingdom, for i understand he runs a annual voluntary EYE camp providing free eye care for those most in need but can least afford the treatment. I think it's a very worthwhile charity service he runs and deserves all our support.
Enjoy
