Rescue Poor Dog was dragged behind a vehicle for miles by his owner | Heartbreaking
We have named this sweet 7 month old puppy JASPER. Just like Gabe in Feb., Jasper was dragged behind a vehicle by his owner! And owner is claiming it was an accident again just like Gabe's owner did. The “incident” (under investigation) took place Sunday afternoon in Lancaster, SC. Jasper was surrendered to Animal Control on Sunday pm & taken to the Lancaster shelter. Monday morning he was taken to the shelter’s local vet & the shelter reached out to see if we could help Jasper. Of course we said yes.
Jasper has deep wounds down to the muscle & bone. One of his paws is partially missing. Like Gabe, Jasper had to have been dragged for miles. He has necrotic dying flesh & we are told he smells terrible. He underwent his first surgery late yesterday to debride, clean & close some of his horrific wounds & he coded 3 times, but they were able to get him back. Poor Jasper was transferred to our SC vet earlier today where he will be monitored 24 hours a day until we are sure he is stable.
This poor baby has been thru such a horrible trauma. We hope he is strong & a fighter.
