Sunday 12 January 2020 - Thamo Naidoo - Resetting our Focus for 2020 and Beyond Session 1

Sunday 12 January 2020 - Thamo Naidoo - Resetting our Focus for 2020 and Beyond Session 1 In this message Pastor Thamo Naidoo speaks on resetting of our focus as we enter 2020.
The present state of the world and the subsequent chaos that exists can sometimes cause us to lose our confidence. However, we have to believe that 2020, despite what challenges it may bring, will be a triumphant year. The Church is called to run the race of faith and not to lose faith.

Three portions of scripture from the Book of Hebrews formed the basis to this thought-provoking message; Hebrews 11:3, Hebrews 10:5 and Hebrews 12:12. In the first two portions of scripture a key word, Katartizo, was explained.

Hebrews 11:3. Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed ( Katartizo ) by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.

In the context of Hebrews 11:3, we as the Church are to see ourselves as being equipped, resourced and adjusted by the Word (Rhema) of God. We must therefore enter 2020 by learning how to ‘eat’ the Word of God. This statement is based on Mathew 4:4 “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.”
The Church must let the voice of God, that comes through His Word, become the roar in our spirits because it is the Word that carries us, resources us, and helps us to fulfil our purpose in life.

We find that the word Katartizo is also used in Hebrews 10:5.
Therefore, when He came into the world, He said: “Sacrifice and offering You did not desire, But a body You have prepared (Katartizo) for Me.6 In burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin You had no pleasure. 7 Then I said, ‘Behold, I have come—In the volume of the book it is written of Me—To do Your will, O God “.

From this verse the following aspects were further expounded:
– God has prepared a body (soma) for each of us
– in the Body we do His will

God is not looking for religious activity in the form of sacrifice and offerings. God is looking for a people who will present their bodies (Soma) to do His will. We must come to the self-realization that we were not born to do our own thing but to do His will.

We trust that you will be blessed as you view this message.
