Hi, we are Cindy and Katherine Pérez. We are sisters and disability justice advocates from California. We are the proud granddaughters of Mexican immigrants. We support Elizabeth Warren because she is a champion for disability rights.
All people have intrinsic worth and should not be judged by how much money they make. Whether you are a CEO of a grocery stores or you bag peoples groceries, you are important to our society.
We believe that if someone wants to come to the United States for a better life, they shouldn’t be judged them by how much money they can make. Immigrants with disabilities shouldn’t be afraid of being called a public charge nor should they be afraid of being separated from their family.
We believe in a world where people with disabilities are not forced into institutions and can live and work in their communities free from barriers.
We are proud to stand with Elizabeth Warren because she stands with us.
