The Western Cape has dropped down from third to fourth in the national matric result rankings with a pass rate of 82 point 3- percent. But the provincial department of education says it's satisfied with the outcomes as it boasts the highest retention rate and the second highest bachelor pass rate in the country. The top learner in the country, Madelein Dippenaar, also attended school in the province and achieved an average of over 96 percent. Our reporter Mariska Botha has more.
