*Note* I think there's another side to this discussion about how when we come OUT of survival mode, our brains suddenly start processing what we weren't able to process in the midst of trauma. A lot can come up, symptoms can become a lot worse, etc. When we start to feel safer, suddenly we feel all the things we couldn't when things were unsafe.
