Iraq's Popular Mobilization Forces or the PMF has expressed solidarity with Iran's Islamic Revolution Guards Corps after the US administration branded it a terrorist organization. Commander of Badr organization, Hadi al-Ameri, described the designation as laughable, saying the US is the number one sponsor of terrorism. The PMF says it is honored to have fought alongside the I-R-G-C advisors in the fight against Daesh terrorists. Baghdad has officially recognized the PMF as part of the country's armed forces. The P-M-F answers to Iraq's commander in chief, Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mehdi. When Daesh took over large swathes of Iraq’s territory in 2014, the country's army was depleted. The PMF took on the fight against the terrorists and received strong support from the IRGC.
