You were not saved to serve God. Instead, you were saved to allow God serve you and serve others through you. It is fundamental that you understand this! Things in the world are often radically different from how things are in God’s Kingdom. Realise that your life is not all about what you can do for God, but what He has done and is still doing for you and through you. You are saved to enjoy an intimate relationship with Him! So, when He works in you, you should applaud Him and say 'thank You for using me'.God doesn't need you to serve Him. This is God, Who is self sufficient not only for Himself but also in the universe. He is bigger than everything. What could He need from what He created? He created all things. There’s nothing you can bring to God that He doesn’t already own. How do you impress a God who has everything? You are not called to impress Him. You are called to enjoy His love. He is the One to impress you.
This is why serving God will not make you know God and make you Christlike. Therefore, desist from dead works believing that if God did all this for you, then you must serve Him in return. He created you, not out of need but out of His desire to make you the object of His love. He is the All-Sufficient God. # Pastor Paul Adefarasin
