Guard Yourself, Boundaries, & Karmic Affinities - 6th Patriarch Sutra - 07/28/2019

Guard Yourself, Boundaries, & Karmic Affinities - 6th Patriarch Sutra - 07/28/2019 "Take yourself across; guard yourself. Only then will your coming here have not been in vain. You have come from afar to this assembly because we have karmic affinities in common."
- If you have the blessings you won't fear difficulty and hardship
- How to you plant great Mahayana blessings?
- Support a great good knowing advisor: This is to find a great field of blessings where you can plant
- Practice mark-less giving: the recipient does not even realize they are getting anything, that is truly mark-less giving
- Guard yourself from making mistakes
- What about when your children make mistakes? How do you protect them?
- Give them boundaries
- Likewise to guard yourself: Know your boundaries
- Without prior karmic affinities, you can't stay at the temple, let alone have the blessings to be taught
- The other aspect is you need the blessings to have your Co-cultivatiors as co-teachers
- Because the teacher can't tell you everything, sometimes you need encouragement from your peers
- Just help others cultivate, then you will receive help when you need it
