10 Pull Up Variations You Should Try

10 Pull Up Variations You Should Try Once you start getting comfortable doing pull-ups (8+ reps in a set, basically), it’s time to keep challenging yourself with new pull-up variations :) In this video, I demonstrate ten different pull-up variations that I’ve personally used to reach where I’m at now in my calisthenics journey.

Some of the variations of pull-ups I include in this video are pretty basic, such as wide and narrow grips, but other variations are more advanced. I tried to cover a spectrum of different strength and skill levels. Here are the pull-up variations I demonstrate:

1. 4-point pull-ups
2. Wide-grip
3. Narrow-grip
4. L-sit
5. Commando
6. Archer pull-ups
7. Tucked lever pull-ups
8. Switch-grip
9. Front lever pulls
10. Muscle up

Of course, there’s always the one-armed pull-up, but I’m not quite there yet. I’ll make a whole tutorial on that one once I finally achieve it :)

I hope the list in this video inspires you to try some new things beyond the basic pull-up exercise. If you find the info helpful, please drop a like and leave a comment letting me know what you’d like to see next.
