************ THE FOOLISH LION ****************
Long, long ago, there lived a lion in the forest.
It was very strong. It used to kill animals every day.
Sometimes, though it is not hungry, the lion used to kill the animals for fun.
All the animals were scared of the lion.
They thought of an idea and finally decided to meet the lion and solve the problem.
They sent an invitation to the lion through a fox.
All the animals gathered under a tree waiting for the lion.
Finally the lion came.
An old monkey who was the oldest among the animals started talking to the lion.
" Oh dear king! it is fair that you eat one of us each day,
but it is unfair to kill the animals just for fun.
So we have decided to come to your den one by one everyday as your food.
So you need not hunt us.
Please accept the deal." says the monkey politely.
The lion gets convinced and accepts the deal.
In fact, it feels happy because it can be at home and eat its food without getting tired.
Each day, one animal use to go to the lion's den to become its food.
This becomes a routine.
One day it was the rabbits turn to become food for the lion.
The rabbit was so afraid to go to the lion.
It does not want to die.
So the rabbit thought of a plan and started walking towards the den.
On the way the rabbit saw a small pond filled with water.
The rabbit quickly got an idea and sat near the pond till evening.
After the sunset the rabbit went to the lion.
The lion was so angry on the rabbit because it has been so hungry since morning.
It shouted angrily on the rabbit "Why are you late?"
The rabbit kept quiet for a second.
It took a deep breath and told the lion like this.
" Please forgive me, oh..king! I started early to come to you.
But on the way i found another lion and it try to kill me.
I told him about you.But he didn't listen to me.
And he said that, He is the one and only king of the forest.
I escaped from him and came to you."
Listening to this the lion got more angry and shouted.
" Show me that lion, Where is it?"
The rabbit took the lion to the pond and told him that the other lion was in the pond.
As the lion looked into the pond it saw its own shadow in the water.
And thought that it was the other lion.
So it jumped into the pond to kill the other lion.
As it jumped into the pond the lion drowned in the water and died.
The rabbit escaped it's death and told the other animals what had happened.
All the other animals praised the rabbit for its courage.
Since then all the animals have lived happily.
Moral of the story " MIND POWER IS GREATER THAN MUSCLE POWER "
