Two Gingers Take On Italia - Day Eight - PISA & LUCCA

Two Gingers Take On Italia - Day Eight - PISA & LUCCA After nearly missing our train, we left Florence for Pisa!  We had to check off the Leaning Tower from Katie’s world traveler bucket list.  We got our silly pictures and then hopped on another train for Lucca!  This town came highly recommended, and we loved it.  We enjoyed a wonderful lunch at Osteria da Rosolo, which was recommended by some fellow tourists we met on our tour the previous day.  We had another fantastic meal and then ventured off for some city exploring.  Katie explains where to find fresh water in Italian cities, and we stumble upon a torture museum and a random choir!  We sat in the large, round piazza in the center of Lucca to rest Katie’s weary feet, and a random choir formed together and started singing.  We loved this experience, and it was very moving.  As we continued to stroll the city, we found other random demonstrations of music and dance.  We finally found some information about an arts festival in the city at the time.  We felt really grateful to have witnessed several performances.

After getting back to Florence, we show you around our new hotel.  We moved just around the corner to Residenza Giotto for one night.  After settling in, we found a nearby grocery store and went crazy on more meats and cheeses and wine.  We show all our yummy finds and chat about some other info before calling it a day.

*Sidebar…you’ll notice we start using the word “allora” A LOT in our videos.  It quickly became one of our favorite Italian words.  It translates to “then” or “now then”.  We heard it used constantly on our trip and adopted it ourselves.  Our tour guide on the previous day used it to start a new subject or as we would “now then”.  For example, “Allora, the next food we are going to try is…”.  However, today at the our lunch, the waiter was the only server in the restaurant, and he would frequently come out of the kitchen near our table and sigh “allora” as he rushed off to do something else.  This was more in the context of “oof, now what”.  We would giggle every time he passed.
