Brexit Party MEP Claire Fox received thunderous applause as she insisted she and her party would attempt to “finish, thwart and humiliate” Remainers in the upcoming election. Ms Fox also added the Party was not pleased with Boris’ deal but was determined to not have a Labour-led government or Remain Parliament. Ms Fox told a rally in Peterborough: “We know the lengths that the establishment will go to derail Brexit. “We aren’t here to let the Tories off lightly but we are here to stop Remain winning. “We aren’t here because we think Boris Johnson’s treaty or withdrawal agreement delivers what we want. “But we are here to ensure that the Remain establishment is thwarted, finished and humiliated in this election.” Ms Fox also revealed why it was important the Brexit Party stepped down some of its MP candidates. She said: ‘That decision to stand down was done in good faith. “It was a recognition of the reality of the first past the post system and it was our attempt at blocking the concerted attempts of the Remain alliance. “They are informally led by Jeremy Corbyn’s Labour Party and want a second referendum. “That is a real and present danger and we weren’t going to let that happen.” Jeremy Corbyn’s Labour Party has outlined the Brexit strategy and course of action if they were to take power following the December election. The Labour Party have said that they would return to Brussels and negotiate a better Brexit deal that better protects the rights and livelihoods of workers. It has been unclear on whether the Labour Party would campaign to Remain or leave in this scenario. In addition, over the weekend Andrew Marr was unable to get a clear answer out of Mr Corbyn on whether he wanted the UK to Leave or Remain in the European Union.
