To reiterate - overall, I think the study community is a positive thing, and I'm really glad that there is this online movement to promote education. However, I really don't think it's without its faults. I do have more concerns about it (and I might make a video on them another time, depending on how you feel about this one?), but this is one of the attitudes that I feel most uneasy about, and my results day this year and what it proved to me gave me a good oppurtunity to talk about it. Also, something that I didn't really go into because I didn't want to make the video too long or off-topic, but I did touch on at the start - "natural ability" vs. effort. My personal opinion is that, while people might be more inclined towards e.g. maths than essay writing (... like me!), at the end of the day the volume, breadth and depth of work you do during a degree favours hard work (of the type discussed here) over innate talent. I really honestly would recommend choosing a subject you like rather than one you think you'll do well in, because when you're only studying one thing for three or four years you need some kind of enjoyment to get you through that. I definitely made the right choice with physics!
Lastly - big virutal hugs to those of you still holding out for your results - I know the wait is hard ❤ Please look after yourselves x
This is only a very small list (there are definitely more people I follow who are worthy of being here!) but if you're looking for study-type content which is motivating, but not intimidating, I'd recommend:
If you have any recommendations of your own, I'd genuinely love to know! 😊
