Could This Belt Help Detectives Crack Serial Killer Case? Police on New York’s Long Island announced new evidence in the elusive Gilgo Beach serial killer case. Suffolk County Police released an image of a belt that was spotted at the scene. The black leather belt featured the letters HM or WH inscribed on it. The case struck fever pitch in 2010 after Shannon Gilbert, a sex worker from New Jersey, vanished after going to meet a client in Oak Beach, Long Island. Her remains were found more than a year later.
