Keep on getting caught roll-less in the bathroom? Well, now technology is coming to the rescue.
Procter & Gamble has unveiled a toilet-roll delivering robot at CES gadget show in Las Vegas. But don't get too excited, it's just a concept for now.
STORY-LINE:
At CES gadget show, tech is moving everywhere, even into the bathroom. Procter & Gamble unveiled a concept design for a toilet-roll delivering robot, called "Rollbot".
It's designed to help stricken owners who've suddenly released their toilet roll holder is empty.
P&G says the robot can be controlled with a smartphone using Bluetooth. Its futuristic design uses self-balancing tech to move.
"When activated with a smartphone, delivers a fresh roll of Charmin to you when you're in the loo, solving that oh so familiar bind of being stranded with an empty toilet paper roll and no help in sight," explains Marc Pritchard, P&G chief brand officer.
The company didn't showcase the robot in action. They say it's more of a concept for now.
Elsewhere, P&G showcased Opte, a personalized handheld inkjet printer that scans, detects and corrects pigmentation in the skin.
The company originally showcased the gadget last year at CES, now it's back with a faster, more interactive and portable design, claims P&G.
"This sleeker handheld beauty device scans your skin, detecting even small tonal imperfections and then applies very precise amounts of camouflaging, optimizing serum to correct uneven skin tone and reduce the appearance of spots overtime," says Fama Francisco, CEO of P&G Baby & Feminine Care.
CES, formerly known as the Consumer Electronics Show, started Sunday (5th January 2020) in Las Vegas with two days of media previews. The show floor opens Tuesday through Friday.
