A glorious summers morning at the end of June allowed for a great morning of up close departures. With the summer schedule in full swing the airport is busier than ever, and no busier than the first few hours of the morning where the know 'slot 1' departures, depart to destinations across Europe. During the early hours of the morning runway 23L is inundated with takeoffs. With the sunrise just before 5am, this allows for us to catch the full swing of departures once 23L opens at 06:15am. With a mixture of both long and short haul departures, in addition to a great variety of airlines, its one of the best times for spotting at the airport.
